Mugnano del Cardinale is an Italian municipality in the Province of Avellino, in Campania. It is located in a valley created by the Acqualonga stream, at the foot of the mountains of western Irpinia, an ideal destination for long and oxygenating hikes in the dense woods that surround it, but also a renowned place of pilgrimage, thanks to the presence of the Sanctuary of Saint Philomena.

This town is specialized and known worldwide for the production of cured meats.

In Mugnano del C.le, in addition to the cured meat factories, you will find small shops and bars, very beautiful ice cream parlors, restaurants, pizzerias, sandwich shops, and a small shopping center. The locals, the Mugnanesi, are very kind and hospitable.

There are characteristic villages perched on the Coast where Sorrento is located and devotees can visit the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Amalfi, on the Amalfi Coast. For those seeking complete relaxation and time for endless meditation, these locations are ideal.

Other interesting sites include Pompeii - with its Ruins and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary -, the Sanctuary of Montevergine (in the province of Avellino) dedicated to the Madonna (Mamma Schiavona) and the Sanctuary of Saint Gerard Majella (in Materdomini, a hamlet of Caposele in the province of Avellino).
