Mugnano del Cardinale, 11 January 2026 A day of deep spirituality enlivened the Shrine of Saint Philomena on the occasion of the celebration of the Saint’s Patronage, an event especially dear to the faithful coming from every part of the world. From the early hours of the morning, many devotees reached Mugnano del Cardinale to pay homage to the young martyr, finding welcome and spiritual guidance in the prayer of the Rector of the Shrine, Fr. Giuseppe Autorino. The solemn Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese of Nola, H.E. Msgr. Francesco Marino, whose presence gave further solemnity to a moment of profound ecclesial communion and spiritual recollection. The heart of the day was the blessing of the oil, intended to feed the votive lamp that burns unceasingly before the body of Saint Philomena, kept in the Shrine. A strongly symbolic gesture that recalls the light of faith, unceasing prayer and the Saint’s protection over her devotees, a visible sign of a devotion that does not fade. The participation of pilgrims arriving from different regions of Italy and from many countries of the world once again testified to the universal dimension of the devotion to Saint Philomena. Une journée d'intense spiritualité a animé le sanctuaire de Sainte Philomène à l'occasion de la célébration du patronage de la sainte, un rendez-vous particulièrement cher aux fidèles venus du monde entier. Dès les premières heures du matin, de nombreux fidèles se sont rendus à Mugnano del Cardinale pour rendre hommage à la jeune martyre, trouvant accueil et guide spirituel dans la prière du recteur du sanctuaire, Don Giuseppe Autorino.
La célébration eucharistique solennelle a été présidée par l'évêque du diocèse de Nola, S.E. Mgr Francesco Marino, dont la présence a conféré une solennité supplémentaire à ce moment de profonde communion ecclésiale et de recueillement spirituel.
Le cœur de la journée a été la bénédiction de l'huile destinée à alimenter la lampe votive qui brûle sans cesse devant le corps de sainte Philomène, conservé dans le sanctuaire. Un geste fortement symbolique qui rappelle la lumière de la foi, la prière continue et la protection de la sainte sur ses fidèles, signe visible d'une dévotion qui ne s'éteint pas.
La participation de pèlerins venus de différentes régions d'Italie et de nombreux pays du monde a témoigné une fois de plus de la dimension universelle du culte de sainte Philomène. Des langues, des cultures et des traditions différentes se sont unies dans une seule prière, sous le signe de l'espoir et de la confiance.

Um dia de intensa espiritualidade animou o Santuário de Santa Filomena por ocasião da celebração do Patrocínio da Santa, um evento particularmente querido pelos fiéis vindos de todas as partes do mundo. Desde as primeiras horas da manhã, numerosos devotos chegaram a Mugnano del Cardinale para prestar homenagem à jovem mártir, encontrando acolhimento e orientação espiritual na oração do Reitor do Santuário, Dom Giuseppe Autorino.
A solene Celebração Eucarística foi presidida pelo Bispo da Diocese de Nola, S.E. Mons. Francesco Marino, cuja presença conferiu ainda mais solenidade a um momento de profunda comunhão eclesial e recolhimento espiritual.
O ponto alto do dia foi a bênção do óleo, destinado a alimentar a lâmpada votiva que arde incessantemente diante do corpo de Santa Filomena, guardado no Santuário. Um gesto fortemente simbólico que remete à luz da fé, à oração contínua e à proteção da Santa sobre seus devotos, sinal visível de uma devoção que não se apaga.
A participação de peregrinos vindos de diferentes regiões de Itália e de vários países do mundo testemunhou mais uma vez a dimensão universal do culto a Santa Filomena. Línguas, culturas e tradições diferentes uniram-se numa única oração, em sinal de esperança e confiança.
