On pilgrimage with Saint Philomena to Blessed Bartolo Longo In this very difficult time in which humanity seems to have lost the Road to reach the Goal, that of Jesus, a time of need for true spirituality, for Charity, for Listening, for Welcome, for Peace and closeness to the least, it is no coincidence that two Shrines with strong Marian devotion and two spiritualities, that of Saint Philomena young Christian martyr and of Blessed Bartolo Longo ardent apostle of the Rosary, have met. This is what happened to our community of Mugnano del Cardinale, called by God on Friday 27 October: together with the Philomenian family, accompanied by the Rector Don Giuseppe Autorino and with the most precious Relic of Saint Philomena, we went on pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii. Great was the emotion and joy when we arrived on the churchyard and we went in procession with the relic into the Shrine. With great devotion to the Virgin Mary, our sweetest Mother, we set ourselves to listen to the Word and in prayer with an open heart to receive Jesus. We were embraced by two women, Saint Philomena and the Virgin Mary, Mother of the Rosary, She who first accompanied, listened and traced the Path toward the holiness of Blessed Bartolo Longo, true Apostle of Mary and witness of the true faith. Saint Philomena too, through her life of Holiness, with a mother's gaze impressed in the heart of her devotees love toward God, and through love toward God also a holiness of Life, making them become blessed, just like Bartolo Longo. We experienced the ancient friendship that bound Blessed Bartolo Longo to the shrine of Mugnano del Cardinale, thanks to his deep devotion to our Saint. More than once Bartolo Longo visited our shrine and during the visits he donated the face of the Virgin of the Rosary and also the first print of the biography of Saint Philomena. With fraternity and friendship we were welcomed by the Rector of the shrine of Pompeii Don Pasquale Mocerino who greeted us with the wish that this devotion may be more and more rediscovered and deepened, keeping strong the bond and friendship with our shrine and our Rector Don Giuseppe. Thanking the Lord, in the evening with a heart full of joy we returned home richer spiritually and with the embrace of the Virgin Mary, She who accompanies us, listens and goes before us on the path of life and on the path of faith and leads us to Jesus. En pèlerinage avec sainte Philomène auprès du bienheureux Bartolo Longo
En ces temps très difficiles où l'humanité semble avoir perdu le chemin pour atteindre le but de Jésus, temps de besoin de vraie spiritualité, de Charité, d'Ecoute, d'Accueil, de Paix et de proximité avec les plus petits, ce n'est pas un hasard si deux Sanctuaires avec une forte dévotion mariale et deux spiritualités, celle de Sainte Philomène, jeune martyre chrétienne, et celle du Bienheureux Bartolo Longo, ardent apôtre du Rosaire, se sont rencontrées.
C'est ce qui est arrivé à notre communauté de Mugnano del Cardinale, appelée par Dieu le vendredi 27 octobre, avec la famille Filomeniana, accompagnée par le recteur Don Giuseppe Autorino et avec la très précieuse Relique de Sainte Filomène, nous sommes allés en pèlerinage au Sanctuaire du Saint Rosaire de Pompéi.
L'émotion et la joie ont été grandes lorsque nous sommes arrivés au sanctuaire et que nous sommes entrés en procession avec la relique à l'intérieur du sanctuaire.
Avec une grande dévotion à la Vierge Marie, notre Mère la plus douce, nous avons écouté la Parole et prié avec un cœur ouvert pour recevoir Jésus.
Nous avons été embrassés par deux femmes, Sainte Philomène et la Vierge Marie, Mère du Rosaire, qui a d'abord accompagné, écouté et tracé le chemin de sainteté du bienheureux Bartolo Longo, véritable apôtre de Marie et témoin de la vraie foi. Sainte Philomène aussi, par sa vie de sainteté, avec un regard de mère, a imprimé dans le cœur de ses dévots l'amour pour Dieu, et par l'amour pour Dieu aussi une sainteté de vie, les faisant devenir bienheureux, tout comme Bartolo Longo.
Nous avons fait l'expérience de l'ancienne amitié qui liait le bienheureux Bartolo Longo au sanctuaire de Mugnano del Cardinale, grâce à sa profonde dévotion pour notre saint. Plus d'une fois, Bartolo Longo a visité notre sanctuaire et, au cours de ses visites, il a fait don du visage de la Vierge du Rosaire et de la première impression de la biographie de sainte Philomène.
Nous avons été accueillis avec fraternité et amitié par le recteur du sanctuaire de Pompéi, Don Pasquale Mocerino, qui nous a salués en souhaitant que cette dévotion soit de plus en plus redécouverte et approfondie, en maintenant de solides liens et une grande amitié avec notre sanctuaire et notre recteur Don Giuseppe.
En remerciant le Seigneur, le soir, le cœur plein de joie, nous sommes rentrés chez nous plus riches spirituellement et avec l'étreinte de la Vierge Marie, celle qui nous accompagne, nous écoute et nous précède sur le chemin de la vie et sur le chemin de la foi et qui nous conduit à Jésus.
