Rector’s visit with the relics to the community of Bitonto in Puglia From 28 September to 2 October, the religious celebrations dedicated to the Virgin and Martyr Philomena took place at the Parish of St Leucius in Bitonto, a town in the province of Bari. Maria Grazia Canonico
In this very Parish, devotion to our dear Patroness is very much alive, thanks to the presence of the historic Confraternity of Saint Philomena, a civilly recognized ecclesiastical body that for years has promoted devotion to the beloved little Saint in Puglia, boasting more than two hundred members.
Moreover, still in the Parish, to keep devotion to the Saint alive, a Mass is celebrated in her honor on the 9th of every month.
For the occasion, on Sunday 1 October, Don Giuseppe Autorino was invited to preside over the solemn Mass.
This is celebrated before the sacred procession, during which the statue of the little Princess is carried through the streets of the neighborhood.
Furthermore, our rector wished to pay tribute to the host community with the sacred relic of Saint Philomena, in whose presence he celebrated and imparted the final blessing.
The beautiful statue depicting Philomena, kept in the Parish, was placed at the foot of the altar and adorned with a mantle of flowers.
We prayed and sang together in Philomena’s name with great devotion, amid the enthusiasm of so many local faithful.
In Bitonto, the Campanian Archconfraternities arrived as representatives: Center Sixty-Six, from the Province of Salerno, and Center Zero, from Mugnano del Cardinale and the Province of Avellino.
The little Saint is powerful; she touches the hearts of those who venerate her deeply and with true faith, making herself felt everywhere.
Where you least expect it, there is her living and true presence.
Finding this strong devotion among people you do not know, far from my land, makes me even more proud and aware of how fortunate I am to be able to pray to her in her Shrine, just a stone’s throw from my home.
O Beautiful Saint, you who are powerful before God, thank you for always being present in my life and in that of my family, giving me so much fraternal joy in the encounters that this new experience, too, has reserved for me.

C'est précisément dans cette paroisse que le culte de notre chère patronne est très vivant, grâce à la présence de l'historique Confraternité de Sainte-Filomène, un organisme ecclésiastique reconnu civilement qui promeut depuis des années le culte de la bien-aimée Santina dans les Pouilles, et qui compte plus de deux cents membres.
Toujours dans la paroisse, pour maintenir vivante la dévotion à la sainte, une messe en son honneur est célébrée tous les 9 du mois.
Pour l'occasion, le dimanche 1er octobre, Don Giuseppe Autorino a été invité à présider la messe solennelle.
Cette dernière est célébrée avant la procession sacrée, où la statue de la Principessa est portée à travers les rues du quartier.
En outre, notre recteur a rendu hommage à la communauté d'accueil en lui remettant la relique sacrée de sainte Philomène, en présence de laquelle il a célébré et donné la bénédiction finale.
La belle statue de Philomène, présente dans la paroisse, a été placée au pied de l'autel et ornée d'un manteau de fleurs.
Nous avons prié et chanté ensemble au nom de Filomena avec une grande dévotion et au milieu de l'enthousiasme de nombreux fidèles locaux.
Bitonto, les archiconfréries de Campanie étaient représentées : Centro soixante-six, de la province de Salerne, et Centro Zero, de Mugnano del Cardinale et de la province d'Avellino.
La Sainte est puissante, elle touche le cœur de ceux qui la vénèrent profondément et avec une vraie foi, se faisant sentir partout.
Là où on ne l'attend pas, elle est là, vivante et vraie.
Le fait de trouver cette forte dévotion parmi des gens que vous ne connaissez pas, loin de ma patrie, me rend encore plus fière et consciente de la chance que j'ai de pouvoir la prier dans son sanctuaire, à deux pas de chez moi.
O Santa Bella, toi qui es puissante avec Dieu, merci d'être toujours présente dans ma vie et celle de ma famille, me donnant tant de joie fraternelle dans les rencontres que cette nouvelle expérience m'a réservées.

Visita do reitor com as relíquias à comunidade de Bitonto, na Apúlia
De 28 de setembro a 2 de outubro, realizaram-se as celebrações religiosas dedicadas à Virgem e Mártir Filomena na Paróquia de São Leucio em Bitonto, uma cidade da província de Bari.
É precisamente nesta paróquia que o culto da nossa querida padroeira está bem vivo, devido à presença da histórica Confraria de Santa Filomena, um organismo eclesiástico reconhecido civilmente que há anos promove o culto da amada Santina na Apúlia, contando com mais de duzentos membros.
Também na paróquia, para manter viva a devoção à Santa, é celebrada uma missa em sua honra todos os dias 9 de cada mês.
Para esta ocasião, no domingo, 1 de outubro, o padre Giuseppe Autorino foi convidado a presidir à missa solene.
Esta última é celebrada antes da procissão sagrada, em que a estátua da Principessa é transportada pelas ruas do bairro.
Além disso, o nosso reitor homenageou a comunidade anfitriã com a relíquia sagrada de Santa Filomena, na presença da qual celebrou e deu a bênção final.
A bela imagem de Filomena, presente na paróquia, foi colocada aos pés do altar e adornada com um manto de flores.
Rezámos e cantámos juntos em nome de Filomena com grande devoção e no meio do entusiasmo de muitos fiéis locais.
Em representação de Bitonto estavam as Arquiconfraternidades da Campânia: Centro sessenta e seis, da província de Salerno, e Centro Zero, de Mugnano del Cardinale e da província de Avellino.
A Santa é poderosa, toca o coração de quem a venera profundamente e com verdadeira fé, fazendo-se sentir em todo o lado.
Onde quer que não se espere, ali está a sua presença viva e verdadeira.
Reencontrar esta forte devoção entre pessoas desconhecidas, longe da minha terra natal, faz-me sentir ainda mais orgulhoso e consciente da sorte que tenho em poder rezar-lhe no seu Santuário, a dois passos da minha casa.
Ó bela Santa, tu que és poderosa junto de Deus, obrigada por estares sempre presente na minha vida e na da minha família, dando-me tanta alegria fraterna nos encontros que, também esta nova experiência, me reservou.
